In full
Hans and Ida Altreuter opened a small café in Nördlingen in 1962. Since 1968 the family's house has stood at Marktplatz 11, right next to the Daniel.
Today Roland Altreuter runs the house, with his son Max in the bakery. Both are master confectioners, as Hans was. Three master certificates from three generations hang on the wall.
Cakes, pastries and chocolates are made in our own bakery. The house speciality is the Rieskratertorte: its layers slant like the rock at the rim of the Ries crater.
Our small hotel is right by the Daniel. Breakfast is served in the café. The rooms are reached by stairs; the house has no lift.
